From the moment you step foot inside Au cheval blanc, you are greeted with the warm, aromatic embrace of fresh ingredients and expertly crafted dishes. “ A gem waiting for you to discover them. The food is very fresh and cooked to order. If it seems to be chilly out call a head for an inside table. They do not have many and we saw some people being turned away. After our terrific dinner we offered to the owner to move to the terrace to free up the table for a couple waiting. We will be back for sure on our next Normandy trip. ”
“ Came here whilst looking for something to eat before our boat. We had burgers and steak, all of which were cooked well and tasted good, the moules looked fantastic too. For dessert we all wanted café gourmand, and the waitress was very kind in offering me a nut free one since I have an allergy. Would highly recommend. ”
“ We started of with six escargot served in butter an pesto. Yummy. When The Wife orders salmon, she normally gets pieces thinner than Celion Dion’s arm. What The Wife got today was hearty portions that left her smiling more than when a local compliments her on her French. The cook put love and attention in the fish. Very enjoyable. I did not notice many meat options so in order to avoid the cheeseburger I ordered the duck. The Wife tells me that duck is often a tough piece of meat. It left me wishing for soft juicy pork but I saved half of my meal for breakfast. I sat down first while The Wife looked for a new nail care items across the street. I could not ask more from Andreu our waiter. Not only was he professional and attentive, Andreu also provided tourist tips for our next leg of our stay in France. Towards the end of the meal, Maricke dropped by and talked to us for a bit. She made The Wife feel welcomed. ”
“ It’s a really good lunch experience , even for a small group with children ! The restaurant was really kids friendly and offered a wide range of dishes even at lunch . Thank you ! ”
“ This was an amazing meal. With friendly staff that struggled through language with us. Wonderful menu, seating on both sides of the street. This is one of the best places in Ouistreham! Highly recommend! ”
